Giving Back as a Gift

Last Christmas, as a gift to my mom, I started a Mocha Club team called Joanie’s Children.  Joanie’s children supports Orphan Care and Vulnerable Children in Africa.  All team members commit to giving $7 a month to the cause (the cost of 2 mochas, the concept behind Mocha Club.)

Please join our team, as a gift to someone you love for the holidays, or just as a gift to these children, who deserve love and hope more than anyone.

Merry Christmas, and Happy Giving Back!
Kimberly

Here’s a little bit about what Mocha Club’s Orphan Care does:

HIV/AIDS, disease, and war have taken the lives of so many parents in Africa, and that has left orphans for us to care for. These orphans have no form of child services or housing, and therefore are left to fend for themselves, often alone in the desert or the bush. In the Darfur area, the number one cause of death was wild hyena attacks, because the orphans had no safe area to sleep at night. They are also extremely vulnerable to slave raiders when they are left alone.

We provide the children with safe housing, protection, and complete care – food, education, spiritual direction, medical care, and vocational training. And this is only the beginning, as our goal is to develop these children into future leaders in their own communities.

Join Mocha Club members in caring for the next generation of Africa – children of hope and dreams.

3rd Annual Fall Wine & Cheese Party celebrating Mocha Club

MC%20Logo%202008%20Final

Join us this Saturday at the 3rd Annual Fall Wine & Cheese Party celebrating one of our favorite Nashville organizations, Mocha Club. Mocha Club is an organization that shows for the cost of 2 mochas, $7 per month, you can have an impact in Africa. They work with a variety of projects, from child soldiers to former sex slaves. For example, $7 a month can pay for one child’s AIDS’s medication or give clean water to 7 people for one year.

We encourage everyone to come out, bring a bottle of wine, make new friends, and find out how you can be involved with Mocha Club. Whether it be through a one-time gift or joining Mocha Club at $7/month.

 Event Details:

Saturday November 14th 8pm Home of Katie Gallerani

2010 Cedar Lane Apt 1 Nashville 37212

If you have any questions please email givingbackisthenewblack@gmail.com and we can hook you up with Katie!
